Free school is not free
Public schooling in Kenya may be advertised as free, but the hidden costs, including uniforms, books, exams, supplies, transportation and in many cases boarding, quickly become overwhelming for parents who may earn less than a dollar a day.
What monthly support makes possible
- $20 a month provides the school fees, uniform, books and supplies a primary student needs to stay in school.
- $60 a month gives junior secondary or secondary students the resources to continue school.
- $100 a month advances possibilities for post secondary education and vocational training.
Results, 2021 to 2026
- 100 students supported
- 55 students enrolled in 2026
- 22 high school graduates
- 5 post secondary graduates
Education starts the journey
The Self Reliance Journey currently begins with families whose children are supported through the education fund, so stability at home reinforces success in school.
"No End To Love has transformed our family's life through education and practical support."Eunice
About ten years ago, a commitment was made to keep the children of one family in school. Today the oldest son is the family's first university graduate, three family members have completed post secondary education, two are employed in their chosen fields, and the youngest is continuing his education.
